| Snoring
is a condition that has plagued sleepers since the beginning
of sleep itself. Snoring is generally regarded by most
as embarrassing to those who suffer from it and bothersome
to those who have to endure listening to it. Some of
us even find it humorous (usually more so the day after,
for some reason ;). We like to tease family members
and friends about their snoring problem, and we have
even seen snoring perpetrated by our favorite TV, movie,
and other story characters. |

But should we view snoring as no more
than embarrassing or bothersome, or should we see it as
far more than that? Should we find snoring amusing or comical,
or should it be taken more seriously? Dr. Nieten and Sonshine
Dental Care actually take snoring quite seriously,
and we think you should too. Why?
Not only is it crucial to our health to get a proper amount
ot rest, it is now known that snoring is an indication of
a much more serious problem. Sleep apnea is an abnormal
breathing condition that is indicated by snoring. If someone
you know has a problem with snoring, this means they suffer
from sleep apnea. So while the snoring itself is not life
threatening, the sleep apnea condition that accompanies
it has been discovered to be life threatening.
