Dr.
Nieten can acually do this with a treatment
that includes the
new pre-orthodontic trainer, the T4K (Trainer
For Kids). The
goal at this early stage is to retrain the childs
oral habits. These
habits, when they are poor, are often the major
cause of orthodontic problems.
But
if we can correct them and harness their positive
forces, we can use them to promote positive
bone development and proper tooth position.
We do this by directing them onto the teeth
and jaws to promote
this crucial bone development with the T4K.
This process of development should ideally be
occuring naturally already, but often is interfered
with.
The
natural forces
produced
by a child's tongue, cheeks, lips, and jaws
are instrumental in facilitating proper bone
ond tooth development and position during childhood,
but are commonly interfered with by childhood
habits such as thumb sucking, lip biting, and
breathing through the mouth instead of the nose.
