Sonshine Dental Care now offers invisible braces
by Invisalign. But what are they exactly and how
do they work? These amazing new orthodontic aligners
are computer designed for each patient individually.
They are especially
wonderful for those adults who would love to have
their teeth straightened but the appearance of traditional
braces does not appeal to them at all, or maybe
the patient had braces when they were younger and
the results they got were great, but the teeth relapsed
alittle.
They don't want to go thorough the hassle of braces
again since they just need a little orthodontic
refining. The Invisalign appliances are the perfect
in this application. These appliances
are transparent, making them virtually invisible,
and they are removable making it easier for the
patient to maintain good oral hygiene.
Here's how this amazing new orthodontic advancement
works. The Invisalign process begins with an impression
of the patient's mouth which is then sent to the
Invisalign lab in Santa Clara, California. Here
they make a model of the patient's mouth as it is
now, and then they generate a new ideal mouth for
the patient with straight teeth on the Invisalign
3-D computer. The computer then basically morphs
all of the small steps between the patients current
pre-treatment condition and the desired ideal condition,
then creates a progressive series of transparent
aligners, one for each step, that will take the
patient from where they are now to having the straight
teeth they desire. Each
aligner is worn for approximately two weeks, then
changed to the next set in the series. After several
months the desired result is achieved... straighter
teeth!
We realize that traditional orthodontics is not
always the best answer for everyone. Some people's
lifestyle or occupation doesn't allow them to benefit
from traditional orthodontics due to the distraction
they pose, the discomfort, the potential physical
danger, or other such reasons.
These sophisticated thermo-molded acrylic appliances
are not only invisible to your friends, but they
also eliminate sharp metal edges that cut and irritate,
and are virtually impervious to temperature change
(keeping your teeth from becoming sensitive to hot
and cold temperatures.) They are just generally
more comfortable than traditional brackets and wires.
Although Invisalign aligners are not the best solution
for everyone, they can be perfect for many patients.
